New Year New Me (again)

Here we are in 2026 and I’m starting the year with intention, motivation and confidence. Let’s start by taking you back to last year with a bit of an overview of how things went both personally and professionally:

2025 was one of the most challenging years for the shop with a significant amount of time off due to a particularly gross skin infection (hair gets literally everywhere!) and also the arrival and departure of a team member brought me an incredible amount of stress.

As always, one day at a time, I got through it and the support of the customers throughout the whole year was really humbling and inspiring.

Looking at 2026 from here I have some simple, similar goals to last year. I want to be the best barber in Worthing. I want to be the busiest barber in Worthing. I want to rent the spare chair to a new team member. I want to rent the back room at the shop to a hair/beauty/other professional). Granted, one of these goals is entirely subjective - but the rest are very achievable with a lot of hard work.

I’m incredibly excited to head back behind the chair for my first full (and fully booked) week of the year. Thanks to everyone for reading this and thanks always to everyone who choses to come to Turner’s Barbershop for their regular haircut, beard trim, buzzcut - and a special thank you to anyone strolling by who gives me a Cool Guy Nod or a big wave. I love that stuff!

Yours enthusiastically,

Alex

PS. Here are some of my side missions for the year: Witness the mighty Coventry City Football Club achieve promotion to the Premier League. Visit a new city on holiday. Learn to perfect making a Dirty Martini.
